Library Media Center..
In the beginning of the school year, students come to the library for orientation as part of their English class program. At other times throughout the year, students return as individuals or in class groups for instruction in various informational skills and book selections. Teachers in all subject areas are encouraged to bring their classes to work on projects and do research.
The library is constantly aiming to stimulate good reading habits that will continue throughout life. With approximately 13,000 volumes, the library provides opportunities for students to read for enjoyment or to use materials that complement and enrich the instructional program. In addition to fiction and non-fiction titles, students have access to several newspapers and magazines in print and CD-ROM format and other reference resources. There are also sixteen computers that are connected to the Internet for student use.
The library has installed a library automation system called Surpass. Instead of using the traditional card catalog to find out what materials are available in our library, students will learn to search for information through a computer terminal. The library also provides the faculty and students access to VOL (Vermont Online Library), World Book Online and the Internet. Learn more information about the Library Media Center.
