Language Arts - Seventh & Eighth Grade Program..
This course is a five days per week course requirement for students choosing not to take a foreign language. Students learn a variety of skills designed to improve their reading, writing, and research skills. The activities in Language Arts are coordinated with the instruction in English classes. A special focus is placed on improving basic skills, preparation for standardized tests and writing portfolio completion. Students are taught the specific elements involved for a variety of writing pieces i.e. procedural, response to literature and persuasive writing. Techniques in improving reading comprehension and note taking are also stressed.
Required unless Foreign Language is taken instead.
