Transition Services..

A large part of a student’s middle school experience deals with transition. The first transition is from community elementary schools to our school and the second is from the middle school to the high school. The Mount Anthony school counselors undertake a considerable amount of planning to make these transition experiences successful for your child. In both transitions, the following activities are planned:

• The Program of Studies is reviewed among students and staff of sending and receiving schools.
• Informational meetings are held with students and packets are sent to parents.
• A parent information night also takes place at the receiving school.
• Summer transition programs will be held to welcome parents and students and provide an opportunity for questions and general orientation.
• For all students entering MAUMS, we also conduct a school visit day.

We are pleased to offer these experiences to our students and feel they contribute to the positive adjustment that students make in our schools.
