Handbook Detention..

Students who do not adhere to expectations of the staff or who have not completed their assigned work may be assigned detention. In all cases, students will receive 24 hours notice of the detention. The only EXCEPTION is one in which the nature of the infraction is so serious, that the faculty and/or administration will contact the parent by phone and receive verbal permission to keep the child on that day. Failure to report for the detention will result in:
  • First: the teacher detention will be doubled and parents will be contacted by the teacher
  • Second: office detention for two days or Saturday detention and the student will not be allowed to attend the next dance or activity night.
  • Failure to comply will result in a parent-student-teacher conference in order to address the behavior and write a plan detailing future consequences.
Students are expected to notify their parents of the assigned detention, report to the detention room promptly at 2:20 with the necessary work to accomplish their assignments, and enter the room in a quiet manner and be ready to work. Students who are disruptive during detention will have to repeat the detention plus serve an additional night. This is a study time. Office detention lasts from 2:20 PM until 3:00 PM and is held Monday through Friday; the time of a detention served with a faculty/staff member will be determined by that adult.

IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF PARENTS TO ARRANGE TRANSPORTATION FOR STUDENTS ASSIGNED A DETENTION
